Ovulation
Knowing the time in a woman's monthly cycle that the egg is ready to be fertilized is the basis of becoming pregnant as this is the time, if vital sperm are introduced, that the egg can be fertilized.
Thus for couples who are trying to have a child with no previous success, careful examination of the time of ovulation, as well as the vitality of the male sperm, are two things that are important to know.
Methods used to determine the time of ovulation in a woman are relatively simple. One such method depends on carefully logging the dates that the menstrual period begins. Generally, all women have 28 day cycles and the time of ovulation can be determined by predicting the date of the next period based on past data and subtracting 14 to 16 days. This will identify the most probable time of ovulation. Further accuracy can be attained by using a Basal Body Temperature device to detect the rise in temperature in the vagina, indicating ovulation has begun.
In the book, "Pregnancy Miracle," Lisa Olson has developed an exhaustive method of preparing the woman's body holistically to be highly receptive during the time of ovulation. If you have been trying to get pregnant, this book will give you the step by step methods to ensure healthy eggs during ovulation.
